Open Networking & Fellowship - From arrival to meeting’s start

An important part of every meeting, this is a time where members really get to know each other—to build trust, form relationships and gain knowledge. Name badges are handed out and meals are ordered, if the chapter meets at a restaurant.

Opening Prayer and NIC Introduction - Approximately 5 Minutes

Meetings should start promptly at the agreed-upon time. During this time, an opening prayer is offered and NIC is introduced by the NIC Chapter President or by another Chapter officer. Guests are welcomed at this time and announcements are made. Announcements would include any new NIC services or policies and anything that would be of interest to the chapter.

Introduction & Business Commercial - 10-20 Minutes

Every member and guest is given approximately one minute to introduce themselves and talk briefly about their business.

Five Minute Business Tip Of The Week - 5 Minutes

Members are assigned one month in advance the opportunity to present a five minute business tip. Although the more business oriented the better, since we are a Christian organization, a five minute scripturally based teaching would also be appropriate. Anything that helps us to be more Christ-like helps us to be better business people.

Passing of Business Referral Basket - 5 Minutes

Pass a basket around the table in which members may place one copy of the 3 part NIC Blessing Referral form. One copy they will have earlier given to the member for whom they have the referral and one copy they will have retained.

Business Presentation and Open Networking - Approximately 20 Minutes

This time is flexible. Traditionally, it is to provide an individual member the opportunity to give a 10-minute business presentation—giving more detailed information about their business. Every week a different member is given this opportunity. The presentation is followed by 10 minutes of open networking. This time could also be used exclusively for open networking.
During open networking, members and guests are encouraged to be Spirit-led as to whom they should approach. We encourage all members to get up from where they are sitting and approach the person or persons they feel the Lord has directed them to talk with.

The steps of a righteous man or woman are ordered of the Lord and by His precious blood, we may choose to walk in His Righteousness and be led by His Spirit! (Psalms 37:23)

"Kudos", Praise Reports & Prayer Requests - Approximately 20 Minutes

This is a time reserved for praising your fellow NIC members for blessings received, praising the Lord for blessings received and for prayer requests. Sharing during this time is strictly voluntary. Members and guests receive encouragement regarding the benefits of NIC participation. The emphasis here is giving glory & honor to God. In the “Kudos” part where we talk about how we have been blessed by interaction with other members, although we bless one another, God gets the Glory! Because Open NIC chapters may have several members with the same Area of Service, it is recommended, at Open Chapters, that only the Lord be praised for referrals received. Otherwise hurt feelings and a spirit of jealousy may arise.

Closing Prayer

Those desiring more time for open networking may extend their time commitment by arriving fifteen minutes before the opening prayer and leaving fifteen minutes after the closing prayer.
